- Obituary of Lillian Skelton
Passed peacefully at her home in Queen's Garden, Hamilton on July 9, 2016. She was in her 100th year.
Loving mother to Jim of Kearney, Jane (Bill Evans) of Hamilton and grandmother of Mark Evans (Catherine) of Burlington, Jennifer Skelton (Marc Casas) of Yellowknife, John Evans (Sarah) of Simcoe and Kathryn Skelton of Toronto. Very proud great-grandmother of Sophia, Hannah, Lucas, Jordi, Abby, Esther and Dylan.
A daughter of Robert and Nellie More (nee Lackner), Lil was born in Kitchener and attended K-W Collegiate prior to graduating from U of T in 1938 with a Bachelor Degree in Household Science. She lived a courageous and fulfilling life enjoying her many friends and relishing in family and many (95) summers at Sand Lake where she was a vibrant and inspiring member of the community. Lil is best remembered for her devotion to her family, her loving and kind ways and her welcoming and gracious manner. A long-time member of St. John's Anglican congregation in Kitchener and a former member of the K-W Granite Club, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill in 1964, brothers Robert and Kenneth and sister Evelyn.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Queen's Garden for the exceptional care and love they provided Mom over the past ten months.
A celebration of Lil's life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Sand Lake Pioneer Log Church. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the future at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home; please contact the funeral home for details.
