THE FIRST NEWSPAPER
The first paper published in Elmira, the Elmira Anzieger, was established in 1869 by the Delion Bros., Fred and William. They continued for thirteen years when it was purchased by Mr. George Beaver, some time in 1883 Two years later it became the property of Charles Delion who published it until 1895 when Messrs. Henry Delion and Casper Ziegler purchased the plant. The latter firm then established the Elmira Advertiser which has been a success from the beginning. Mr. Chas. Delion is editor and manager. They are getting out a clean, spicy paper, and therefore deserve the hearty support of the people of this section.
