  Jacob Kinzie, "was born June 5th, 1804. He was married to Susannah Stauffer. They resided on a farm in North Dumfries about three miles north-west of Ayr. From there they moved to Michigan where both died. To them was born a family of seven children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
