HEATHER-EVERETT HOFFMAN.
The marriage took place in St. Nicholas Christ church, Sevenoaks, Kent of Major G. A. Heather, Royal Field Artillery, son of the late Very Rev'd G. A. Heather; Dean of Achonry and Mrs. Heather, Errislannan Manor Connemara, Ireland, and Williamina (Minnie), daughter of the late Mr. William Pattison, of Fergus, Canada, and widow of the late Mr. Charles Everett Hoffman. Beldornie, Kitchener, Canada. The ceremony was performed by the Rector. Rev. J. Rooker. M. A., and Rev. C. LaPoer Grench Heaslop, Oxon, Royal Naval Chaplain, uncle of the groom. The bride was given away by Lt. Colonel Richard Reid. Agent General for Province of Ontario, and was attended by Miss Kate Macpherson. sister of Surgeon General Sir William Macpherson, Honorary Physician to the King and Miss Phyllis: Silcock. Park House, Warwick Park, Sunbridge Wells, Captain R. Montgomery Parker. Royal Garrison Artillery, was best man. The service was choral and a hymn specially arranged and bound in silver and blue, was presented by Miss Eva Hankey, and sung.
A mark of appreciation for the bride's work in the local hospitals was the Guard of Honor of over a hundred convalescent soldiers, who formed an arch with their crutches and sticks for the bridal party to pass under.
An informal reception was held at ""The Chantry", the beautiful residence of the Misses Hankey, and the exquisite flowers decorating the house and church, were the gift of the Bishop of Rochester and Mrs. Harmer, Bishop's Court. The bride was dressed in pole grey satin with Georgette tunic embroidered in silver and blue. large grey hat with silver. blue and pink flowers, and going away costume of dark blue with blue and fawn travelling coat.
Among the many handsome presents was a clock with inscription presented by the officers of the Royal Garrison Artillery, Great Bentley. Assex.
Major Heather served in the Duke. of Connaught's Own Sligo Royal Garrison Artillery and has seen active service in South Africa, France and Belgium, and represented the Western Diocese of Killala and Achonry in the General Synod of the Church of Ireland Dublin
