Notes |
- HABEL, Lloyd H. On Friday, February 11, 2011 at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira, in his 93rd year, of Elmira formerly of Kitchener. Beloved husband of Jean (Leis) Habel for over 71 years. Loving father of Beverley Catherine and Gerry Coles of Elmira. Cherished grandfather of Cara Jean and Brad Janson of Kitchener and great-grandfather of Cole, Parker and Sidney. Lloyd is remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Lloyd was the last surviving member of his family having been predeceased by his parents John and Luella Habel, his brother Wilfred and his dear son Warren (1966). Lloyd spent his entire working career of 47 years at Kaufman Footwear keeping their machinery in fine tune. Lloyd's favourite hobby was restoring antique and classic cars. He was very active in the Sergeant's Mess in Kitchener, the Khaki Club in Wellesley and the Elmira Legion. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral home visitation. A memorial service for family and friends to celebrate Lloyd's life will be held at the Dreisinger Funeral Home Chapel, Elmira on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Frey officiating. In his memory, donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Chateau Gardens Assisted Living as well as Leisureworld, Elmira for the excellent care given to our husband, father and grandfather.
