  Carolina is the older sister of Maria Catharina Baumgarten Rothmann. Their parents are Francois Daniel Amand Baumgarten from Lutzelbourgh, Moselle, France and Marie Anne Ritter from Rossfeld, BAS RHIN, France. They were married in Lutzelbourg in 6 October 1814.
