    • Christian Vogel, 70, of 18 Grove St., died early today at his residence following a lengthy illness.

      The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Vogel, he was born at Maryhill. He was an employee of the Schlee Button Company for 44 years. Mr. Vogel was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church. His marriage to Marie Ziegler, who survives, took place at Rochester, NY, 49 years ago.

      Surviving are one son, Harold, Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. Alex (Esther) Dunbrook and Mrs. Walter (Irene) Schaefer, both of Kitchener; two brothers, Albert, Kitchener, John, Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Hinschberberger and Miss Hannah Vogel, both of Kitchener.

      The body is resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday, prior to the requiem high mass at Sacred Heart Church at 10 o'clock. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Thursday at 8 p.m. Interment will be made in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. Rev. James Casey will officiate.
