  JOHN SCHLEGEL Stricken with a heart attack, John Schlegel, 78, died suddenly yesterday at his home, 189 Victoria street north. Born March 13, 1862, at Bamberg, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Schlegel, he was a foreman at the Kaufman Planing Mill where he was employed for 45 years. Mr. Schlegel retired ten years ago. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran church and served on the church council for 12 years. Deceased also belonged to the I.O.O.F. Surviving are his wife, formerly Caroline Pommer, three brothers, Louis of Hanover, August of Kitchener, Fred of Warsaw, NY. and a sister, Mrs. Charles Knechtel of Kitchener. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from his residence thence to St. Matthew's Lutheran church for service at 2,30. Dr. John Schmleder will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Hope cemetery. Remains will be at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home until Sunday morning.
