    • Signalman Herman W. Jinssen of Preston, killed in Action overseas probably in Sicily,

      Signalman Jinssen believed to have been in Sicily. In a recent letter to his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jinssen of Preston, he said he was on the water and that "you will soon know where I am."

      Another Preston boy, Pte. K. Johnston, a dispatch rider, was reported injured in Sicily several weeks ago.

      Born in Holland. Jinssen came to Preston with his parents when he was a year old. Prior to the war he was employed at the Canadian Office and School Furniture facto, at Preston. He also served in the Royal Canadian Navy for three years. His wife, formerly Lillian McIntosh of Cape Breton, and three children Margaret, Herman and Shirley, live in Toronto.
