    • DEATH OF HERMAN MEINKE

      Mr. Herman Meinke, of Water Street, Berlin, cigar-maker by trade, died Tuesday evening at six o'clock at his late residence after an illness of six or seven months from stomach cancer. Deceased was born in Germany and came with his parents to Berlin in 1873 and has been more or less closely connected with cigar manufacturing ever since. At the time of his death he was aged 51 years, 3 months and 29 days, and leaves a wife and two children to deplore his loss. Mr. Meinke was well and favorably known in the town and was a member of St. Peter's church and also belonged to the United Workmen and C. O. F. societies. His remains will be interred on Thursday at 2 p. m. by his Brethren from his late residence to St. Peter's Church and thence to Mt Hope Cemetery.
