- KNIPFEL, Paul James - Paul died, peacefully, and went home to be with his Lord after a four month illness. He died at St. Mary's General Hospital, in Kitchener, on Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at the age of 50. Beloved son of Dorothy (nee Koehler). Paul is also fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles, Vera Kraehing, Marie Neeb, Howard Knipfel and his wife Marguerite, all of Kitchener, John Knipfel and Betty Knipfel of Waterloo, Walter Knipfel and his wife Irene, Fred Knipfel and his wife Erika of Petersburg and his many cousins. Paul will be especially remembered by his many special friends at Fairway Lumber in St. Jacobs. He was predeceased by his father, Harold in 1979; a sister, Bonnie Lynne in 1967 and his uncles, Roy Kraehling, Wilfred Neeb and Alfred Knipfel. Paul was a man of faith which was demonstrated in many practical ways. He was a strong supporter of the programs and youth at Lutherwood-CODA and many other charities in the community. Paul's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Dieter Kays officiating. Immediately following the service, friends and family are invited to the Reception Room of the funeral home for lunch and a time to visit with the family. Interment will take place on Saturday at 1: 30 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Petersburg.
