  SCHMIDT, Shirley - Passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand Riv-er Hospital, Kitchener. Shirley resid-ed in New Hamburg and was born 63 years ago in Stratford. She was the daughter of the late Eric and Catherine (Cass) Schmidt. Dear sister of Jean and husband Jack Davidson of Stratford and Sharon and husband Tom Clements of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, Jim and Dianne, Jane and Jeff, Dale and Paula, Joan and Shayne, Debbie and Gord, Tammy and Kim, Terry and also her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jay, Emily, Janet, Rayne, Fawn and Bradley. Remembered by her aunts and uncles, Jean Broda, Donna and Randy Snelgrove and Bill and Rose Nahrgang. Shirley was predeceased by her brother, Douglas Schmidt. Shirley was a member of Zion United Church, New Hamburg and was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 532 New Hamburg and the Restless Seniors. Shirley loved volunteering at Nithview Home, New Hamburg. Family and friends called at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg Thursday, November 13, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Friday, November 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Nancy Knowles officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grand River Hospital Foundation, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 532 New Hamburg, or Nithview Home, New Hamburg.
