- LANG BROS & CO., DRY GOODS & HOUSE FURNISHINGS. One of the progressive businesshouses in Busy Berlin is the Dry Goods Store of Lang Bros. & Co.
Established in the Spring of 1904 they have in the course of a few years built up a very remarkable business.
The gentlemen at the head of the firm, Mr. R. D. Lang and Mr. E. D. Lang, are men of business ability and integrity. They have had large experience in their line, having been connected with the dry goods trade for fully twenty-five years and enjoy the confidence of the public both here and throughout the surrounding country. They make a specialty of Fine Dress Goods, Women's Garments, Linens, Carpets, Curtains and Wall Papers. Fully half of their entire premises is devoted to the sale of House Furnishings.
They occupy their own premises in the fine new block on the corner of King and Foundry Sts , shown in the accompanying illustration, which is surrounded by their staff, of whom they are justly proud.
The outstanding features of their business are RELIABLE AND UP TO DATE GOODS, GOOD VALUE AND GOOD SERVICE.
Lang Bros. & Co. extend an invitation to all visitors and citizens to visit the store which will be decorated suitably for the occasion.

EDWARD LANG, RETAILER, DIES AT AGE OF 85
Edward D. Lang, 85, of 360 Queen St. south, died Sunday at St. Peter's Infirmary, Hamilton, following a lengthy illness. He was one of the community's early merchants , operating Lang Brothers Dry Good store which later became Lang-Treacy Company Ltd. He started as an employee of the J.B. Ryan Store more then a half century ago, later forming a partnership with his brother the late R.D. Lang.
HAD WIDE INTERESTS
Aside from his mercantile career he identified himself with religious social service and education pursuits. He was a member of the Kitchener Public School board for many years, serving several terms as chairman. He contributed to YMCA service, being an active member of the board for more then half a century. At the time of his death he was a member of the advisory board. In February, 1950, he was presented with a "Y" pin in recognition of 55 years of service on the local board, a national record. He was also a member of the Family Relief Board for a number of terms. A member of King St. Baptist Church, he was an honorary deacon. He served as Sunday school superintendent for 24 years. Mr. Lang was a member of the K-W Kiwanis Club. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lang, he was born here May 18, 1867. In 1896 he married Sarah Shepperson at St. George, Ontario, who survives.
ARRANGE FUNERAL
He is also survived by two sons, Rev. Harold W. Lang, Hamilton, H. Douglas Lang, Mount Royal, Quebec; two sisters, Miss Clara Lang, and Mrs. U.E. Hallman, both of Kitchener. The funeral will be held tomorrow from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home at 2 p.m. followed by burial at Mount Hope Cemetery.
