    • William Carl Tyack was born on September 1, 1896, in Glen Allan, Ontario, to Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Tyack. He married Grace Kenning in 1931 with whom he had a daughter, Carol Kenning Tyack.;W. Carl Tyack was a member of the RCMP for 30 years until his retirement in 1953. He worked as a quartermaster and was in charge of purchases for the Arctic. This included supplying the St. Roch crew with food, clothing and hardware for their trip through the Northwest Passage. Tyack was also personal friends with Larson and members of the crew, as well as their superior officer.;After his retirement, Tyack worked for Economical Mutual Insurance Co. in Kitchener, Ontario. He was active in the Ontario Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, served as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, Westbank, BC, and was a life member of Cascade Masonic Lodge, Banff, AB. In Kitchener, he was an elder of Rosemount United. Tyack passed away at the Kitchener Waterloo Hospital on April 30, 1961.
