Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. _______________ Allan Schiedel Passes Suddenly The death occurred very suddenly at his home here on Wednesday forenoon, May 21st, of Mr. Allan Schiedel n his 80th year. Mr. Schiedel had been in failing health during the winter months. He had been out for a short walk in front of his home and returning to the house he collapse suddenly and expired. The deceased was born at Mannheim, Wilmot Township, on Sept. 4th, 1853. Following his marriage to Katherine Schaefer on December 12th, 1876, he farmed in the vicinity of New Hamburg until he retired to this town about 22 years ago. The deceased was a faithful and active member of the local Baptist church and was well known and esteemed by a wide circle of friends who mourn his demise. The late Mr. Schiedel was a great lover of flowers and his garden is one of the beauty spots in town. An unfortunate accident befell him in June 1903 when he lost his right arm in a barn raising accident on the farm of Noah Weber. Besides his widow he leaves one son Edward, of Haysville. Another son, Arthur, predeceased him 16 years ago. The funeral will take place from his late residence on Saturday afternoon, June 3rd, private at the home and with public service in the Baptist church at 2:30 o'clock.
