      Native of Puslinch Township Had Operated Dairy for Some Years

      On Saturday, May 28, 1938, in her 71st year, at her home, 44 Chalmers St., Galt, after an illness of some eight months. Widow of John Brown. Since the death of her husband twelve years ago, Mrs. Brown had been actively engaged in business as operator of the Galt Dairy. At the passing of her husband, she decided to carry on herself and with considerable determination, was able to get a grasp of the business and successfully operate it. Born in Puslinch Township, the eldest daughter of the late Alexander and Isabella Sinclair, she had resided in Galt for fifty years and was well known and respected there. For many years, she was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Of recent years, she was a member and devoted supporter of Lincoln Avenue United Church. Mrs. Brown is survived by three daughters*, Mrs. Isabel Pratt of Pontiac, Ml; Mrs. G. H. Graham of Detroit; Mrs. J. M. Moffatt, at home; one sister, Mrs. Donald Clark of Kelowna, BC; and five grandchildren. A private service was held at her residence at 1: 30, followed by a largely attended public funeral service at 2: 30 from the T. Little and Son Ltd. Funeral Home, 39 Grand Ave. North to Mount View Cemetery. Rev. C. H. Woltz and Rev. Dr. J. D. Smart were in charge of the services. Pallbearers: James Marshall, Harry Brown, Fred Brown, Bailey Keachie, John Jackson and Donald Day. -* Annie Sinclair also had a daughter, Edna Sinclair, previous to her marriage to John Brown. Edna Sinclair was raised by her grandparents, Alexander Sinclair and Isabella McPherson. As an adult, she lived in Toronto.
