    • David [should read Daniel] Lehnen of Wellsville. Born in Canton Bern, Switzerland, Sep. 10, 1829, died at age of 66y 5m 25d. At the age of 19y he left his native county with his parents and settled in Berlin, Canada. In 1855 he married Miss Mary Doebler, his present wife. They had 3 children, 2 sons, a dau. On account of his health, he left Canada and came with his family to the U.S. and settled in Wellsville in 1859 where he engaged in the hardware business. About 7y ago he retired from business and moved to his farm north of town. He became a believer of the teachings of the New Church in early manhood and was one of the first members of the society in Wellsville. Funeral sevices were conducted at the New Church by Rev. J.H. Sudbrack of Burlington, IA in German, and Rev. L.G. Londenberger of St. Louis in English. City cem. (Pub 17 Apr 1896)
