  On December 31, 1889, Elizabeth Ann Lake (age 24) married Menno Beight (age 31) in Berlin (now Kitchener), Ontario. Menno, born the the United States, was the son of Jonas and Lena Beight. The marriage record stated: "The Bride was adopted by John Spahr when quite young and does not know her parents' names." Menno and Elizabeth had a daughter, Elsie. She was born on December 22, 1890, in Berlin (Kitchener). Menno (age 33), Elizabeth (age 26), and Elsie (4 months) are listed in the 1891 Census of Canada as residents of Berlin. Elizabeth died on January 24, 1895, in Berlin, at the age of 29 years, 11 months. The cause of death was blood poisoning. A Find a Grave search for Menno and Elsie reveals that they moved to Iowa (possibly Menno's native State) sometime after Elizabeth's death.
