- Philip Ivan Wright Passes An Ayr native, Philip Ivan Wright of 213 St. George Street, Brantford, passed away Sunday, November 9th in St. Joseph's Hospital, Brantford. He was 60. Born in Ayr, he was a son of. the late Daniel Wright and Luciel Burton. The Wright family resided on Mitchell Street in the home now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bryans. Mr. Wright attended Ayr public and continuation schools. He then worked for a number of years at the Ayr News before enlisting in the R.C.A.F. during World War II. He served overseas and during that time was married to. Isobel Cowper in Dumfries, Scotland. Upon returning to Canada, Mr. Wright was employed for a short time by Barber Ellis paper company in Brantford. A great interest in photography gained while in Ayr, led to him taking over the photo department at Lough's Drug Store in Brantford. More recently he operated his own photography business. Mr. Wright was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Brantford, and the Royal Canadian Legion, Dunsdon Branch, Brantford. Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Ian of Burlington, Colin of RR 3, Princeton, and Alan of Kitchener; two daughters Mrs. Tim (Debbie) Kopacsi of Brantford and Elizabeth at home; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kilgour, Mrs. Thomas (Sue) Bryant and Mrs. Nel Nickerson, all of Brantford and Mrs. Hugh (Jean) Pitcher of Leamington; also three grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Norman and Jack. Funeral service will be held at 2: 00 p.m. today (Wed.) at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home, Brantford. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
