  James B. Burton Passes A well-known resident of Ayr for more than 60 years, James B. Burton, died Friday at the Victoria Nursing Home, Ayr. He was in his 86th year. Born in Preston, England, the deceased was a stationary engineer with the John Watson Mfg. Co., retiring in 1954. He was an adherent of Knox United Church, Ayr. The late Mr. Burton was a veteran of World War I. He enlisted with the 166th, went overseas where he was with the 124th and 10th Battalions, Canadian Engineers. Surviving are his wife, the former Rose Turner; a son, Fred Burton of Ayr, and two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Little of Ayr, and Mrs. William (Beatrice) Sanderson of Preston. Five grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his first wife. Funeral and committal services were held at Little's Funeral Home, Galt, on Sunday afternoon. Rev. D. E. Willis officiated. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Mast, Robert Todd, Albert Melvin, Gilbert Gemmell, Rufus Knechtel and Clarence Campbell. The Ayr News Mar 23 1972 pg 2
