- Matthew Schumacher
Matthew Alexander Schumacher of Water Street, Ayr, passed away following a brief illness at K-W Hospital on Wednesday, December 13th. He was in his 47th year. He was vice-president of the K-40 Club of Ayr and an employee of Crosby Volkswagen, Kitchener, for 29 years. He was a member of the "Hot Hogs" cooking team which twice won the Canadian pork barbecuing championship at the annual event held in Ayr. Matt will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help others. Loving husband of Julianna (Lia Van Vliet) Schumacher of Ayr; dearest father of Mark and his friend Pauline of Cambridge, Daniel at home and Jeffrey of Waterloo. Dearest son of Juletta Schumacher of Walkerton and the late Harry Schumacher. Brother of Rosalyn and her husband John Burnside of Walkerton and Harriet and her husband Allan Goetz of Mildmay. He will be sadly missed by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Rested at the Westmount Funeral Chapel. Kitchener. Mass of Christian Burial was held at Blessed Sacrament RC Church on Saturday morning. Interment Ayr Cemetery.
