- Henry Currie Passes
The death occurred in Saskatoon on Thursday of Henry Currie in his 89th year. Deceased was born in the township of Blenheim, his father, the late James Currie, being one of the early settlers in that section. The death of Mr. Currie removes the last of a family of twelve. He farmed in Blenheim until 24 years ago, when he went West with his family. He was located at Glamis, Sask., for many years and later removed to Saskatoon. He was a Presbyterian in religion, being a member of the former Stanley Street Church here. He is survived by two daughters and three sons, his wife having predeceased him nine years ago: Mrs. Thomas Rose, Newdale, Man.; Mrs. F. M. Campbell, Glamis, Sask.; James H. Currie, Glamis; R. Ernest Currie, Saskatoon, and John W. Currie, Ayr. The funeral took place from the residence of his son, John W. Currie, Ayr, on Wednesday to the Ayr Cemetery. Rev. Patterson Hall, pastor of Knox's Presbyterian Church, Galt, assisted by David Gowdy, student minister of the Ayr Presbyterian Congregation, was in charge of the services. The pallbearers were: John L. Black, Geo. D. Black, J. J. Brown, David Rodger, A. G. Laurie and A. E. Laurie.
