Death of Charles Harding
The death took place in Blenheim yesterday of an old and respected resident of this section, in the person of Mr. Charles Harding, a pioneer resident, aged 78 years. The deceased had been ailing form some time but no serious symptoms were manifest until Saturday last, when it was evident that an operation would be necessary. This was skillfully performed on Tuesday afternoon by Drs. Atcheson of Galt and Meldrum of Ayr, but the patient did not rally from the effects and passed away at 4 o'clock the next morning. He was born in Hampshire, England, and came to Canada in 1874, settling n Ayr. His wife predeceased him about 12 years. The children who sur vive are: Mrs. Arthur Cooper, Blenheim; Mrs. H. Russell, Blenheim; Mrs. C. Cooper, Galt; Mrs. E. Bake?, Woodstock; Henry in Alberta, and Frederick in Blenheim. In politics the deceased was a staunch Liberal and in religion a consistent Methodist. The funeral will take place from is late residence, Blenheim, to Ayr Cemetery on Friday afternoon, Jan. 6.
