Highly Esteemed Resident of South Dumfries Passes in Her 75th Year
A highly esteemed resident of South Dumfries Township passed away on Monday morning at 4.30 in the person of Mrs. James W. Hall in her 75th year. She had been ill for some considerable time. Mrs. Hall, whose maiden name was Mary Deans, was born on the Deans homestead at Keg Lane, South Dumfries township, being a daughter of Isobel Marshall and John Deans. She was a valued member of Knox United Church and was formerly active in the different women's organizations of the congregation. Besides her husband, James W. Hall, she is survived by the following: One daughter, Mrs. Currie Smuck, (Belle); three sons, William Hall, Paris; John Hall, at home, and James Hall, Camp Borden; two, sisters, Mrs. John Cochrane and Mrs. George Black, Paris; one brother Anthony Deans, Paris, and five grandchildren. The funeral took place this (Wednesday) afternoon to Ayr Cemetery.
