    • Mrs. Jean Douglas Passes - Mrs. Jean Douglas, Ayr, wife of the late Clare Douglas, passed away in St. Mary's Hospital. Kitchener, on Wednesday, July 4th. She was in her 74th year. The former Mary Jean Huson, Mrs. Douglas was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huson and was born in Paris. After her marriage to Mr. Douglas, the couple moved to Ayr where they farmed on upper Northumberland Street. Mrs. Douglas moved to Piper Street following her husband's death. Mrs. Douglas was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr, and associated women's groups; also a member of the Ayr Woman's institute. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George (Shirley) Mitchell, RR 3, Ayr, and Mrs. William (Marilyn) Scott, RR 2, Drumbo; a brother, Horace Huson of Paris, also five grandchildren. Funeral service was held Saturday at the William Kipp Funeral Home, Paris. Rev. D. E. Willis officiated. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were Milburn Lake, Paul Clement, John Huson, Douglas Dunn, Sam Shantz and Dean Shantz.
