    • Hendrik (Henk) Van Manen - Peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 14th, 1998, after a courageous battle with cancer, Henk Van Manen of RR 4, Cambridge, died in his 71st year. Born in Ede, Netherlands, he was predeceased by his parents, Marie Schimmel and Antonie Van Manen. Henk was employed by the Waterloo County Board of Education until his retirement in 1994, many of the 17 years were spent working at Highland Public School. Upon retiring he continued with his passion, farming on a fulltime basis. He will be missed by his family; his wife, Ike; his son, Anthony of RR 4, Cambridge; his daughter Jildou and Bill Keith of Kitchener; grandchildren, Christopher, Dana, Leah, Mackenzie, Marlee and Lydia; brothers and sisters, Gerrit and Arisje Van Manen, Fransien Nyhof and Willie Van Veen, all of Holland, Mary and Chester DeVries of Cambridge, Cobie and Gerrit Stomphorst of Milton, Jane and John Gaasbeek of Cambridge, Tony and Sharon of Guelph, Kees and Cecelia of Elmwood, Henny and Doug Eaton of Innerkip, Frank and Brenda of Delta, B.C., John and Dianne of Ayr. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 1998 at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home at 1: 30 p.m. Reverend Ralph Koops of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, Cambridge, officiating. Interment Ayr Cemetery.
