    • William H. Smith - William H. Smith, aged 67, passed away early this morning at his home, 53? Hohner Avenue, following a lengthy illness. He was born at Tavistock, Ont., Aug. 4, 1875, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Smith. Formerly a well-known clerk at McCallum's Cigar Store, he had of late years worked as a salesman for the Imperial Tobacco Company. He had formerly resided in Tavistock and also Neudorf, Sask. Mr. Smith married Janet (Burdy) Landreth at Tavistock 43 years ago and was a member of Trinity Untied Church. Surviving are his wife; one son, John L. , with the 24th Field Ambulance in England; three daughters, Miss Janet N. Smith, R.N., of Melita, Man., Mrs. Arthur Hart, at home, and Mrs. Robert Whitfield of Galt, Ont.; one brother, Harry Gerhardt, Toronto; two sisters, Miss May Gerhardt, Toronto, and Mrs. J. C. Card of Neepawa, Man. One granddaughter also survives. The funeral will be held Saturday at 3.30 o'clock with service at his home and interment in Ayr Cemetery. Rev. E. O. Seymour, pastor of Trinity United Church, will officiate. The remains are resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 6: 00 p.m. Friday when they will be removed to his home.
