    • Raymond (Tyke) Sherk - Raymond Harvey (Tyke) Sherk of Ayr, passed away at Willett Hospital, Paris, on Tuesday, September 25th, 2001. He was in his 69th year. Born in Galt, he was a son of the late Melvin Sherk and Mary Elizabeth Brown. He grew up on the Sherk farm, 11th Concession of Blenheim, west of Greenfield. In his younger years, Tyke was a heavy equipment operator and worked on several pipeline projects in Ontario and Western Canada. He subsequently joined the family business, Sherk Sales and Service, and sold Case and David Brown farm equipment. Later, prior to retiring, he drove truck for Drumbo Transport and J. and R. Hall in Ayr. An avid antique tractor enthusiast, Tyke was an executive member of Historical Shows Association, Central Ontario, which sponsors the yearly historical show in Paris. He was a former Ayr councillor. Dear husband of Joan McAllister; beloved father of Sandra Sherk of Preston, Janice and Jim Jackson of Ayr, Barbara and Gordon Black of Paris; loved grandfather of Rachel and Aiden; dear brother of Margaret and Bill Makins of Bayfield, Jim and Gail Sherk of Ayr, Liz and John Kostuik of Baltimore, Esther Mitchell of Paris and brother-in-law of Phyllis Sherk of Ayr; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Doug, Bill and by infant brother David William. Rested at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Fred Hagle at Knox United Church, Ayr, on Friday. Interment Ayr Cemetery.

      At Willett Hospital, Paris, on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, Raymond (Tyke) Harvey Sherk, of Ayr, in his 69th year.
      Dear husband of Joan McAllister; beloved father of Sandra Sherk of Preston, Janice and Jim Jackson of Ayr, Barbara and Gordon Black of Paris; loved grandfather of Rachel and Aiden; dear brother of Margaret and Bill Makins of Bayfield, Jim and Gail Sherk of Ayr, Liz and John Kostuik of Baltimore, Esther Mitchell of Paris and brother-in-law of Phyllis Sherk of Ayr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
      Predeceased by brothers, Doug, Bill and by infant brother, David William.
      Tyke was a member of the Paris Historical Society, a former Ayr Councillor, a former employee of Drumbo Transport and J&R Transport and an avid antique tractor enthusiast.
      Friends will be received at the Ayr Chapel, Wm Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St., Ayr today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. then to Knox United Church, Ayr where funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 28 at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Fred Hagle officiating. Interment Ayr Cemetery.
