  Obituary (written in German script-name of newspaper unknown) "Mother Luco Roppel Maiden name Becker, she died blessed in the Lord in Bruce, Ont. Dec 19, 1894. at the ripe old age of 81 years, 1 month and 28 days. She was born in 1813 in Hatterode, Kurhessen. In 1835 she entered into holy matrimony with Joannes Roppel. The marriage was blessed with 7 children. In 1863 Mother Roppel came with her family to Bruce , Ont. There she converted to God under the guidance of Br. Anthes and led thereafter a godholy way of life. 22 years earlier, her spouse went to his eternal home. The sleeping one had suffered much for the last four years through rheumatism, etc., but had during this time stood firm, prayed and read God's Word until she went home. E. Burr"
