- Mrs. J. D. Guthrie - The death occurred early Thursday morning of Mrs. John D. Guthrie following a stroke which she sustained about one week previous. Deceased, whose maiden name was Margaret C. Bawtinheimer, was born in Blenheim township and was a lifetime resident of this community, where she was widely acquainted and had many warm friends. The greater part of her married life was spent in this village. She was a faithful member of Knox United Church. She is survived by her sorrowing husband, one daughter, Otta, having died many years ago. She is also survived by one brother, David of Dundas, and two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Wells, Denver, Col., and Mrs. Lavina Robinson, Chicago. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery and was largely attend by many old friends and relatives. The services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Currie, pastor of Knox United Church. The pallbearers were as follows: Peter Bawtinheimer, Hamilton; D. G. Bawtinheimer, Niagara Falls; George Bawtinheimer, Dundas; William ,Bawtinheimer, William Guthrie and Clare Guthrie, Ayr. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Jean Smith and Mrs. Fred. Smith, Guelph; Mrs. Christena Hammill and the De Vere family, Galt; Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Bawtinheimer, Niagara Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bawtinheimer, Hamilton; Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Bawtinheimer, Dundas; Mrs. McCormick, Dundas; G. A. Bawtinheimer, Dundas; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Coleman, Galt.
