- Mrs. David Rodger Passes - The death occurred at her home, 136 Kingston Rd., Apt. 217, Toronto, on Sunday of Mrs. David Rodger, a well-known former resident. The former Mary Elizabeth Tennyson, she was born in Lucknow, a daughter of the late George Tennyson and Mary Jane Bavis. Mr. and Mrs. Rodger farmed for many years in Blenheim Township prior to coming to Ayr, where they lived on upper Piper St. Following the death of her husband in 1938, Mrs. Rodger had spent several months annually in Toronto for the past 30 years. Mrs. Rodger was a valued member of Knox United Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James (Vera) Baxter, Ayr and Misses Georgina and Iva Rodger of Toronto. Five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a son, John and two brothers. - The Funeral - Funeral service was held from Coutts & Son Funeral Home, Galt, Tuesday afternoon with Rev. D. E. Willis officiating. Interment was in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Norman Baxter, Owen Sound; David Baxter, Durham; Douglas Mordue and Will Rodger, Blenheim Township; Glen Black, Hamilton, and James Roland of Waterloo. Flower bearers were: J. Morton Guthrie and Ernest Cochrane, Ayr.
