  Passing of John E. Allan - The death occurred in Galt on Saturday of John E. Allan, formerly of Ayr, aged 66 years. He was a son of the late Adam Allan and Margaret Carberry, and spent his younger days in this village. As a boy he attended the former Methodist Sunday School. Upon leaving school, he was taught the trade of moulding at the plant of the John Watson Mfg. Co., after which he left for Galt. Mr. Allan was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Galt, and the I.O.O.F. His wife, the former Maude Patterson, predeceased him in 1944. She was born here, being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Patterson. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George (Ruth) Denison, Galt, and Mrs. Harold (Jean) Lough, Kitchener; a brother, G. T. Allan, Calgary, Alta.; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Patten, St. George, and two grandchildren. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon, with interment in Ayr Cemetery.
