Notes |
- Linda Foreman Drowned - Tragedy struck the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Foreman of Erin, formerly of Ayr, on Wednesday of last week, when their 21/2-year-old daughter, Linda, was drowned in the Credit River. The little girl disappeared from the back yard of their home, and her mother became alarmed when their dog, Linda's constant companion, returned alone. The dog led Mrs. Foreman to the river, some distance away, where it flows through the middle of the town's business section. Here she found the body of her daughter, who had evidently fallen into the water without attracting the attention of citizens on the streets, only a stone's throw away. Coroner Dr. T. Packard of Guelph was called, and he stated the child had been dead for some time. Funeral service was held from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Foreman on Saturday with Rev. W. D. Goodger officiating. Pallbearers were: David Page, Lance Hallam, Douglas Foreman and Donald Johnson. Interment was made in the Ayr Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. John Foreman moved to Erin from this village some two years ago. They have one other child-a 7-month-old son.
