  Mrs. George Dear Passes Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Herbert F. Bull at Christ Church on Saturday for Mrs. George Dear, who passed away suddenly in Brantford on Thursday in her 83rd year. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery. Harold Cornford of Ayr was a pallbearer, along with nephews and grandsons. The former Gertrude Carpenter, she was born in Brighton, England, and came to Canada with the family many years ago. She was married in Ayr to George Dear, who predeceased her five years ago. They resided here for many years while her husband was employed in Watson's. They subsequently moved to Galt, returning to Ayr following Mr. Dear's retirement. Mrs. Dear went to Brantford after the death of her husband. While in Ayr Mrs. Dear was an active member of Christ Church and its women's organization. Surviving are three sons and two daughters: Wilfred of Toronto, Frank of Brantford, Roy of Galt, Mrs. Douglas (Gertrude) Johnston of Lynden and M. Henry (Ethel) Ford of Galt.
