- Leslie Donovan of Kitchener passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Friday, March 25th. Born in Abercynon, South Wales, on July 10th, 1914, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Donovan. He moved to Canada and came to Ayr where he settled. Among places he worked, was the Hecker HO in Greenfield. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy as Chief Petty Officer aboard H.M.C.S. Port Arthur during the Second World War. He was a retired engineer at Uniroyal with 26 years of service. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Dearly loved husband of Mary (nee Cochrane) and loving father of Mary Ann. He is also survived by his sister, Mrs. Betty Vezey of Barry, Glamorgan, South Wales and Miss Ada Donovan of Abercynon, Glamorgan, South Wales. Funeral service was held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
