      Ill Only Short Time

His many friends were deeply shocked this (Wednesday) morning to learn of the sudden passing from the effects of a heart attack, at his home on Stanley Street, of William John Woolsey, in his 74th year. Mr. Woolsey had been in ill health for about two weeks. He was employed in the blacksmith shop of the John Watson Mfg. Co. for the past 50 years and was a faithful and efficient mechanic. Mr. Woolsey was born in the County of Armagh, Ireland, a son of the late Joseph Woolsey and Elizabeth Clulow, and came to Canada as a lad. The family lived at Mitchell for a short time before coming to Ayr. He was a member of the former Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir for many years. Mr. Woolsey was a member of the Ancient Order of Foresters and was also a former chief of the Ayr Fire Brigade. He was well and favorably known to a wide circle of friends and acquaintances for his genial and kindly manner, and he will be greatly missed by the citizens generally. Surviving are his wife, the former Clara May Ross; two sisters, Mrs. Chisholm Scott, Ayr, and Mrs. Thompson Kilgour, New Hamburg, and two brothers, Benjamin Woolsey, Ayr, and Joseph Woolsey, Brantford.
