      PARIS.
April 25.-Death claimed another well known resident on Sunday, when Mr. Jas. Whitson, only son of the late Robert and Mrs. Whitson, passed peacefully away at 10.39 in the morning. Deceased was taken sick a week ago with appendicitis, but not getting along as well as expected, an operation was decided on, which was performed Wednesday. The patient seemed to rally after the operation, but his weakened condition could not withstand the ravages of the disease, and despite the best of care, passed peacefully away as above stated. Mr. Whitson was born in Ayr and came to Paris with his parents when a boy, residing here ever since. In his younger years he was well known throughout Ontario as a lacrosse player. He first played with the Beavers, and afterwards joined the famous Brant lacrosse team, which at one time held the championship of the world. He was of a quiet and retiring disposition, and made many frends, who will learn with regret of hs demise Besides a sorrowing wife, his mother and three sisters-Mrs. White, of Brantford, Mrs. C. Munn, and Miss Bessie, of Paris are left to mourn his death. The funeral will leave the residence of his daughter, Willow street, on Tuesday afternoon at 2 oclock, and Interment will take place in the family plot in Ayr.
