Death of James Currie
another well-known and respected resident of North Dumfries has passed to that bourne from whence no traveler ere returns. On Monday afternoon Mr. James Currie deposed the bar in his 48th year. He had been ill for some time from ulcer in the stomach, death ensuing in Galt Hospital. He was a quiet, unassuming man, a Reformer in politics and an adherent of Knox Church, Ayr. His widow was formerly Miss Mary Brown. Four of a family also survive three sons and a daughter - William, Thomas, Erle and Irene, all at home. The funeral will take place today (Thursday) from his late residence, of 23, conc. 9, when interment will be made in the Ayr cemetery, where repose the remains of the deceased's father and mother and brothers and sisters, the late Mr. Currie being the sole survivor of his family. He was a good husband, father and neighbor, and much sympathy will be extended to the family in their sore bereavement.
