    • Passing Of J. Thomas Currie - A former well-known North Dumfries resident, James Thomas Currie passed away at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital on Thursday in his 70th year. The late Mr. Currie was born in the township, a son of the late James Currie and Mary Brown. He farmed on the Greenfield Road, on the place now owned by Weston Sherk, until 1947 when he moved to Galt. He was employed by Galt Brass Co. for nine years until his retirement. Surviving are a brother, Erie Currie of Galt, and a nephew, Robert Gemmel of Galt. Funeral service was held Saturday at Little's Funeral Home, Galt, conducted by Rev. A. B. Embree of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Galt. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jack Wilson, A. S. Lisso, Russ Farncombe, Hugh C. Elliott, Roy Marshall and R. G. Ford.
