  • Notes
    • Patricia Alpine - Patricia Alpine of Cambridge passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 14, 2004. She was in her 85th year. Born in England, she was the daughter of Charles Nixon and Ellen Cunningham. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Alpine. Survived by her brothers Charles (Kay) and Edward Nixon, three nieces and one nephew. Predeceased by her son Jim Alpine, sister Jane Beattie, nephew Donald Beattie and niece Patricia Nixon. Pat was a Girl Guide leader in the Scouting movement for many years. Long time customers at the farmers market in Galt will remember her gladioli stand. The love of travelling she shared with her husband took them to most of Canada's provinces and many American states. The local quilting community will mourn her loss; she was a teacher of the many arts of quilting, a founding member of the Busy Hands Quilt Guild, with her friend Kay, a founder of the Pieces and Patches Quilt Guild. Pat had a great love of music and continued to play her organ into her final years. Rested at Coutts Funeral Home, Cambridge where the funeral service was held on Saturday. Interment of cremated remains at Ayr Cemetery in the spring.
