  • Notes
    • Rev. David Carswell

Funeral service for Rev. David Carswell, Toronto, who passed away recently, was held last Wednesday from that city, with temporary entombment in Ayr Memorial Chapel. Rev. Carswell, who was in his 91st year, lived in Glenmorris as a young man. He was a former member of the church in that community, and was closely associated with its activities. He entered the ministry and as a clergyman was beloved of all who knew him in pastoral charges in Ontario and Manitoba. After retiring from active ministry he was assistant pastor of College Street United Church, Toronto. He married Jean Patterson of Ayr, who predeceased him many years ago, as did a son, Gordon, and a daughter. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W. (Jean) Moon and Mrs. M. (Helen) Shultz, both of Toronto, and two grandsons, William Moon and John Shutz, Toronto, and his cousins, Misses Mary and Kate Carswell and Bruce Carswell, Glenmorris, and Mrs. John Murray, St. George.
