    • His Death Almost Tragic in its Suddenness

      On Monday forenoon an old resident in the person of Mr. William Patterson was suddenly stricken with heart failure and as suddenly passed from life onto death. He had been complaining for some time, but was still going about when the summons came. Mr. Patterson was born in Galt in 1830 and was in his 80th year. Nearly all his life was spent in Ayr. He was a wood-worker and builder, one of his last jobs in the latter one being the construction of a residence in Toronto for the late William Hab?. In politics he was a Liberal and in religion a Presbyterian, being a member of Knox United Church. Of a quiet, unassuming disposition, he made many friends and was esteemed a good citizen. He married in 1853, his bride being Jennie Anderson, daughter of the late Walter And4erson. She predeceased him some years. The family comprised five sons and four daughters. The survivors are: Mrs. Dudman, Savanah; Mrs. Jno. Allan, Galt; William, Winnipeg, and Robert, London. Funeral today, Thursday, at 3 p.m. from his late residence, Swan Street.
