    • Miss Elizabeth Hall Passes

One of Ayr's oldest and most respected citizens, Elizabeth Helen Hall died at her home on Northumberland street on Thursday, in her 87th year. She had been in failing health for a number of years. The late Miss Hall was born on the 10th concession of Blenheim, on the farm now owned by George Strickler, a daughter of James Hall and Margaret Hunter, Scottish pioneers. She moved to Ayr with her sister Mill Agnes Hall, in 1929, taking up residence on Northumberland street. Her sister predeceased her in 1940. Miss Hall was keenly interested in church work and community organizations. She was a valued member of Knox United Church and for years worked with the Women's Missionary Society. The Ayr Women's Hospital Aid Association and the Horticultural Society also benefitted from Miss Hall's membership. She was the last surviving member of the family.
