  • Notes
    • Sudden Death - Roy M. Gibson Found Dead In Stable - Death came suddenly to Roy M. Gibson, 26 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gibson, Concession 6, Blenheim, on Friday night when he was found dead in the stable. He had gone out, after supper as usual, to attend to some chores and when he failed to return to the house, a search was made and his body was found with life extinct. Heart failure is given as the cause of his sudden passing. Deceased was a young man of sterling character, and his untimely demise will be mourned by a host of young friends with whom he was deservedly popular. He was a regular attendant of Willis Church, Drumbo, and was associated with a number of the young people's organizations of the community in which he lived. Besides his mother and father, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: William S., Richwood; Charles John, 7th Concession, Blenheim; Fred, at home; Oliver, Cayuga; Stanley, Toronto; Norman, Richwood; Mrs. Bock, Woodstock, and Mrs. French, Wolverton. Two brothers, James Alexander and George M., were killed at Ypres in 1916, while serving with the Canadian forces overseas. The funeral took place to Ayr Cemetery on Monday afternoon, and was largely attended.
