Esteemed Ayr Resident Passes in Hamilton on Monday in 89th Year

The death occurred in St. Peter's Infirmary, Hamilton, on Monday, after an illness of 6 years, of Miss Margaret Marshall, of Ayr, in her 89th year. Miss Marshall was born in Blenheim Township, the daughter of Anthony Marshall and Isabella Hall, early pioneers from Roxboroughshire Scotland. She was the last surviving member of a family of eight. Miss Marshall resided in Ayr for a period of 40 years and was affectionately known to everyone as "Aunt Maggie." She was highly esteemed by a host of friends for her kindly and friendly disposition and her memory will be cherished in many a household. In former years she was quite active in the Church and Sunday School work and for many years taught the infant class in Stanley Street Presbyterian Church. The funeral (private) was held this (Wednesday) afternoon from the residence of her niece, Mrs. J. C. Swan, to the Ayr Cemetery. In the absence of Rev. J. W. Currie, pastor of Knox United Church, the services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Merryweather of Glenmorris. The pallbearers were as follows: Wm. S. Marshall and Dr. Ward Woolner, Ayr; Milne Jamieson, Hespeler; George Black, Matthew Deans and Anthony Deans, Paris.
