  DEATH Of MRS. WM. BEATTIE, SR. This lady, to whose serious illness reference was made in the last issue of the REFORMER, passed away on Saturday morning last. Deceased was a very old resident of Waterloo township and was for many years a consistent member of the Presbyterian church at Doon. She was the widow of the late Mr. Wm. Beattie, Sr., who died in June 1888 and has resided on the homestead ever since the death of her late husband. There are left to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate mother, a family of eight sons and two daughters; Francis, who is farming near Blair, William merchant, Roseville, John, agent for P. E. Shantz, Preston, Andrew Presbyterian missionary in China, Robert Lakeport, Cal., Murray Santa Clara, Cal., Hugh on the homestead, David, medical student, Toronto, Mrs. Jas. Kersell, Santa Clara, Cal. and Mrs. Isaac Clemens, Newton, township of Mornington. All the the members of the family, we believe, were able to reach home before their mother's death. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, to Mount View Cemetery and was very largely attended. The Dumfries Reformer 1 Oct 1891 pg 1 _____________ Died, In North Dumfries, on Saturday, Sept. 26th, at 11.15 o'clock A.M., Isabella Walker, Widow of the late Wm. Beattie, Sr., Aged 67 years, 6 months and 30 days. The Funeral Will take place on Sunday, 27th inst., at 2 o'clock p.m., from her late residence, Lot 31, 12th Concession, to Mount View Cemetery, Galt.
