  Mrs. Matilda Hughes Passes Mrs. Matilda Hughes, RR 3, Bright, died at the Willett Hospital, Paris, on Tuesday, February 22nd in her 94th year. The former Matilda McConnell, Mrs. Hughes was born at Maberly, Ontario. In 1907 she went west with her husband, homesteading near Glamis, Saskatchewan. From there they moved to Edmonton, later returning to Saskatchewan where the couple farmed for over 20 years at Rosetown. In 1947 they moved to Ontario, residing with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dance. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr, and a life member of Knox U.C.W. Mrs. Hughes is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Mildred) Dance, RR 3, Bright, and a son, Elborne Hughes, Victoria, B.C.; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel in 1948. Funeral services were held at the William Kipp Funeral Home, Paris, on Friday, February 25th at 3:30 p.m. Rev. D. E.
