  Funeral of John McRuer The funeral of the late John McRuer, whose death occurred in Toronto on Friday, in his 85th year, took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Monday afternoon. The services were in charge of Rev. J. E. Reid of Alhambra United Church, Toronto; Prof. J. C. Davidson, Toronto, and Rev. J. W. Currie, Ayr, while the pallbearers were as follows: William and Robert McRuer, Ayr ; Dr. Gordon Chalmers, Dr. Gordon McCormick, James Kingsborough and Albert Walters, Toronto. The late Mr. McRuer was born at Lachute, Que., but lived south of Ayr for about 50 years, leaving for Toronto 21 years ago. Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, John C. McRuer, K. C., and one daughter, Mrs. S. Hannant. He was a brother of the late William McRuer, South Dumfries, and among the nieces and nephews here are the following: Mrs. Morton Hall, Mrs. Jessie Guthrie, Mrs. Jas. G.
