    • Death Of Mrs. James Murray

      Well Known Resident Passes Away In Her 91st Year, on Friday


      One of the oldest and most esteemed residents of Ayr district died on Friday in the person of Margaret Marshall, widow of James Murray. She was living at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Erie Sharp, at the time of her death.

      The deceased was born on. the Marshall homestead, in South Dumfries, the farm now occupied by Clifford Faus, on January 6th, 1852. She had lived near Ayr all her life. Her husband, James Murray, to whom she was married in 1875, predeceased her some 12 years ago. She was a member of Glenmorris United Church.

      The survivors are: one daughter, Mrs Earl Sharp, one brother Anthony Marshall, Silver Stream, Sask.; one sister, Mrs. Robert Cochrane, of Ayr; also four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Besides her husband, two sons, John and Peter, predeceased her.

      The Funeral.

      The funeral service was held from the home of Erie Sharp on Sunday afternoon at 2.30 pm. Rev. J. W. Currie officiated. During the service Murray McQuesten and Stanley Archibald of Puslinch sang a duet, "Sweet Hour of Prayer." Many friends and relatives from surrounding points attended the last rites. Interment was in Ayr Cemetery.

      The pallbearers were: Carl Smith, Glenmorris; Marshall Cochrane, Ernest Cochrane and Marshall Gil-lies, Ayr; Peter Pringle and Alvin Marshall, Toronto.
