  William H. Guthrie Passes A well-known resident of this district, and a member of one of the older families, William H. Guthrie of Plattsville passed away this (Wed.) morning in St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, in his 66th year. He had suffered a lengthy illness. Born near Ayr in 1899, he was a son of the late George Guthrie and Barbara Hall. He farmed for many years in the New Dundee area, prior to retiring to Plattsville in 1963. He was a valued member of the Washington United Church and a former elder. Surviving are his wife, the former Jean Thomson; a son Ray of RR 4 Bright; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Stewart (Miriam) of Galt; two brothers, James of RR 1 Ayr and Hugh of RR 3 Bright, and four grandchildren. Resting at Glendinning Funeral Home, Plattsville, where service will he conducted on Friday by Rev. Craig Railton. Burial will be made in Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News Dec 2 1965 pg 2
